Known for its commitment to person-centered care and a professional yet welcoming environment, the practice prides itself on its team-oriented culture that values the unique perspectives, experiences, and talents of every colleague. The organization operates on principles rooted in its Mission and Core Values, emphasizing dignity, respect, and inclusivity for all patients and staff alike. As an Equal Opportunity Employer, the practice ensures fair consideration for employment regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other status protected by law.
The role available is a full-time Front Office Medical Assistant position, a vital part of the medical practice's daily operations. This position encompasses a variety of front office duties that support the smooth and efficient functioning of the practice. Key responsibilities include greeting patients and visitors warmly, assisting them through the check-in process, and ensuring that accurate insurance and demographic information is securely obtained and entered into the computer system. The role demands familiarity with insurance rules and billing practices to provide accurate assistance and answer patient queries effectively. Additionally, the Front Office Medical Assistant will manage incoming telephone calls, routing them appropriately to facilitate effective communication within the practice.
Beyond administrative tasks, this position requires collaboration with clinical staff to help coordinate patient check-out procedures and schedule any necessary diagnostic tests or follow-up appointments. Medical records management is also a significant component of the job, involving filing, scanning, and handling record send-outs as required. Personnel in this position must demonstrate strong computer skills, particularly with Medical Office programs like Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, along with a basic understanding of Microsoft Office and internet applications. Understanding medical terminology is essential to perform duties accurately and maintain professional communication.
To excel in this role, the candidate must exhibit excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, as interacting with patients compassionately and professionally is paramount. Given the sensitive nature of medical information, the position requires utmost respect for patient confidentiality and discretion at all times. A detailed knowledge of modern administrative practices, a proactive approach, and sound judgment will enable the successful candidate to contribute significantly to the practice's operations and patient experience.
This position offers a dynamic work environment where the Front Office Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in bridging clinical and administrative functions to enhance overall patient satisfaction. The candidate will be expected to learn and adapt quickly to specific systems used by the practice, such as Meditech and other applicable EMR platforms. Initiative, professionalism, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and empathy are key traits that the employer seeks. Applicants with a minimum of one year of relevant front office or medical records experience in a physician's office or similar healthcare setting will find this role an excellent opportunity to grow their career within a supportive and patient-centered organization.
