Job Requirements

  • Experience working in a fast-paced and customer-centric environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Access to minimum PHI necessary for job functions and participation in HIPAA training
  • Ability to maintain data safeguards and protect PHI
  • Willingness to work Monday through Friday during office hours
  • Capacity to sit for prolonged periods and lift up to 15 pounds
  • Completion of tuberculosis test prior to employment (unless exempt in specific states)

Job Qualifications

  • Experience working in a fast-paced and customer-centric environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect patient health information
  • Willingness to participate in regular HIPAA training
  • Detail-oriented with strong multitasking abilities
  • Preferred experience includes dental or medical setting exposure
  • Experience with insurance billing and accounts receivable
  • Familiarity with Dentrix or other dental software

Job Duties

  • Greet and welcome patients as they enter the office to create a great first impression
  • Manage front office duties including answering phones, checking office mail and email, and communicating with patients and insurance companies
  • Utilize Dentrix software for patient scheduling and records
  • Schedule and confirm appointments for multiple providers in the office
  • File patient insurance claims and follow up on outstanding claims, verification of benefits, and explanation of coverage
  • Post insurance and patient payments and process accounts receivables
  • Review treatment plan fees and payment options with patients
  • Partner with providers and team members to implement Heartland Dental systems to optimize office potential
