Job Description

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Carson is a distinguished full-service hotel located in Carson, California, offering a warm and welcoming environment for travelers and visitors. As part of the Hilton brand, DoubleTree is known for providing exceptional hospitality and comfortable accommodations with top-notch amenities. The hotel caters to both business and leisure guests, featuring a variety of rooms and suites, versatile event spaces, dining options, and modern facilities that enhance the guest experience. With a commitment to quality service and guest satisfaction, DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Carson strives to create memorable stays for all its patrons.

The role of Front Desk Agent at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Carson is a vital position within the Front Desk department, reporting directly to the Front Desk Manager. This position is non-exempt and pays $20 per hour, reflecting the importance of delivering excellent customer service to guests upon arrival and throughout their stay. As the first point of contact for guests, the Front Desk Agent plays a key role in shaping the guest’s overall experience by managing check-ins, verifying reservations, and addressing questions or concerns promptly and professionally.

The Front Desk Agent must be proficient in using computer programs and equipment to efficiently check in customers, distribute room keys, and provide accurate directions to guest rooms and hotel amenities. This position also involves answering phone calls, transferring them to relevant departments, and informing guests of on-site amenities to enhance their stay. Additionally, the agent is responsible for handling and resolving guest complaints with tact and patience, ensuring that any issues are addressed swiftly to maintain high satisfaction levels.

Another critical responsibility includes responding to maintenance requests, coordinating with technicians to promptly fix any broken fixtures in guest rooms or other hotel areas. Maintaining a clean and well-stocked gift shop area is also part of this role, contributing to an inviting hotel environment. The agent must effectively invoice and bill guests for their stay and any additional services used, ensuring accuracy and clarity in all transactions. Furthermore, the Front Desk Agent must communicate proactively with guests to understand their individual needs and provide personalized service that exceeds expectations.

The position demands excellent communication, organizational skills, and strong interpersonal abilities to effectively manage guest interactions and teamwork. Being reliable, responsible, and able to remain calm under pressure are essential traits for success in this dynamic hotel environment. Candidates should be prepared for a work schedule that may fluctuate since hotels operate 24/7, requiring flexibility and stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds during shifts.

Applicants should possess at least one year of experience as a Front Desk Agent or two years in the hospitality field, preferably with familiarity in Marriott’s Full-Service Property Management Systems (PMS). A minimum educational requirement of a high school diploma or GED is necessary, while an associate’s degree in a related field or business administration is preferred. As part of the hiring process, candidates must clear a background screening to comply with company policies and ensure guest safety.

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Carson is an Equal Opportunity Employer that prohibits discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, genetic information, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other protected characteristics. The hotel also strictly adheres to the California Consumer Privacy Act, protecting applicant information collected during the hiring process. This role offers a great opportunity to work at a reputable and internationally recognized hospitality brand, providing a career path in the hotel industry with competitive pay and comprehensive support.

If you are passionate about hospitality and enjoy working in a fast-paced, guest-oriented environment, the Front Desk Agent role at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Carson is an excellent fit.
