The role of Manager at WOB Bar & Kitchen is a critical leadership position responsible for driving the overall success and smooth operation of the restaurant. As the Manager, you will oversee all facets of daily operations including managing staff, ensuring quality customer service, driving sales, managing financial performance, and maintaining health and safety standards. This is a full-time exempt position offering a competitive salary with bonus potential. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual with proven hospitality or food service management experience, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a passion for creating a positive team environment.

As a WOB Manager, your primary focus will be achieving sales goals, maintaining operational excellence, and supporting and developing your team. This includes ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and food quality; managing inventories and budgeting; training and coaching staff; and fostering a fun, productive workplace culture. Your leadership will help enhance customer satisfaction and promote the World of Beer brand by consistently delivering exceptional service and a premium experience.

You will be expected to demonstrate strong business acumen by monitoring store profitability, controlling costs, accurately managing financial reporting, and adhering to all company policies and local regulations. In addition, you will prioritize employee engagement and development through ongoing training, clear communication, feedback, and performance management. Maintaining compliance with labor laws and company programs while supporting a safe and inclusive work environment are also vital components of this leadership role.

The physical demands of this position require the ability to stand for extended periods, manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, and maintain excellent verbal communication skills in English. A food safety and alcohol awareness certification is required within 30 days of hire, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. Flexibility to work varied schedules and some limited travel may be necessary.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Food Safety and Alcohol Awareness Certification required within 30 days of hire
  • 1-2 years of hospitality or food service management experience
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical activities such as lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English
  • Flexible schedule availability
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Limited ability to travel is a plus

Job Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of hospitality or food service management experience resulting in positive sales and growth
  • Proven ability to maintain highest levels of restaurant cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Strong understanding of operational standards and job functions within a bar or restaurant

Job Duties

  • Manage all aspects of restaurant operations including customer service, financial performance, staff training, and operational efficiency
  • Build sales and exceed financial goals
  • Develop and grow World of Beer staff through ongoing training and support
  • Ensure compliance with cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Maintain knowledge of all job functions and operational standards
  • Communicate regularly with staff, General Manager, and Regional Manager
  • Make hiring, firing, and employment recommendations
  • Manage staffing and manpower planning
  • Provide feedback and take appropriate disciplinary or recognition actions
  • Uphold a favorable image of World of Beer and promote its objectives
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and company programs
  • Focus on increasing comparable store sales and profitability
  • Manage budgets, inventories, and financial reporting accurately
  • Maintain equipment and purchase products per specifications
  • Ensure the bar complies with federal and local laws
  • Resolve customer and employee issues promptly
  • Perform product management functions as needed
  • Follow safety practices and controls
  • Maintain knowledge of all financial controls
