Job Description
SHEEP at Clayton is a unique culinary venture established by James Beard Award-winning Chef Kelly Whitaker and the visionary team behind The Wolf's Tailor. Located on the rooftop of the Clayton Hotel & Members Club in the vibrant Cherry Creek neighborhood of Denver, Colorado, SHEEP operates as a limited three-month residency that offers an extraordinary fire-driven dining experience. This exclusive pop-up celebrates seasonality, craftsmanship, and hospitality, creating an immersive environment unlike any other in the city. The restaurant's concept revolves around an open hearth and a carefully curated four-course tasting menu that allows guests to make choices while exploring ingredients, stories, and culinary traditions. The role at SHEEP gives hospitality professionals a rare chance to work alongside one of the most celebrated culinary teams in the country, contributing to a highly anticipated dining experience in Denver's evolving food scene.
The Front of House Team Member position is integral to the guest experience at SHEEP. Individuals in this role are responsible for delivering warm, knowledgeable, and highly personalized service from start to finish. Team members act not only as servers but as storytellers and guides, educating guests on the menu details, ingredient origins, the culinary philosophy underpinning the menu, and the beverage offerings. The role demands attention to detail, energy, and a genuine passion for hospitality. Candidates typically come with experience from chef-driven restaurants, tasting menu service, luxury hotels, private clubs, or other elevated dining environments, which prepares them to uphold the high standards that both SHEEP and the Clayton Hotel & Members Club require.
Employees at SHEEP engage in a dynamic and fast-paced environment where precision, professionalism, and creativity are crucial. Team members participate in daily pre-shift meetings and continuous education sessions to deepen their understanding of the menu and improve service delivery. The role involves collaboration across several service areas, supporting the team to ensure a seamless, memorable guest experience. Furthermore, SHEEP offers competitive wages, gratuity opportunities, and a comprehensive benefits package including employee dining privileges, hotel benefits, and career development prospects within the broader Clayton Hotel & Members Club and Makeready hospitality group.
Working at SHEEP is more than just a job; it is an opportunity to be part of a pioneering gastronomic project that emphasizes authentic hospitality and culinary storytelling. The establishment takes pride in fostering a diverse, inclusive, and supportive workplace culture where every employee can thrive and express their individuality. Benefits like accommodating paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, a 401k plan, and access to unlimited COTA transit illustrate the company's commitment to the well-being and happiness of its team members. SHEEP empowers its employees to develop professionally and personally while contributing to one of Denver's most exciting and innovative dining experiences, embodying a passion for excellence and a dedication to creating unforgettable moments for guests.
