Job Description

The Kalispel Tribe of Indians is a sovereign tribal nation dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich heritage, culture, and welfare of its members and the broader community. Located in the Pacific Northwest, the tribe operates various enterprises and services that aim to enhance economic opportunities and quality of life. Among its many initiatives, the Kalispel Tribe runs hospitality services including the Kalispel Golf & Country Club (KGCC), a distinguished venue known for exceptional customer service and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The Kalispel Tribe is an equal opportunity employer, with a hiring preference accorded to tribal members and affiliates in compliance with federal regulations. Employment with the tribe is at-will, ensuring mutual flexibility for both employer and employee. Drug testing and background investigations are standard, underscoring the tribe's commitment to a safe and trustworthy workforce.

Within this esteemed establishment, the role of a Restaurant Server is pivotal for delivering memorable dining experiences that align with the tribe’s core hospitality values. A Restaurant Server at KGCC is much more than someone who takes orders; they are the frontline ambassadors who embody and deliver the tribe's hospitality philosophy—making every guest feel special through personalized service, a friendly demeanor, and professional skills. This position requires attentiveness to guest needs, knowledge of menu items including wine pairing, and proficiency in operating the Point of Sale (POS) system. Servers are expected to maintain a neat work environment, collaborate closely with team members, and uphold the highest standards of service excellence.

This role operates within a framework of tribal policies and Washington state regulations, ensuring compliance and integrity in all actions. Key responsibilities include greeting guests warmly, guiding them through menu offerings including daily specials, serving food and beverages in an attentive and courteous manner, managing payments accurately, and addressing guest inquiries effectively. The server must be knowledgeable about food and beverage service protocols, especially regarding alcohol service which requires mandatory certifications.

The position also involves maintaining cleanliness and organization of the dining area and the server's station, performing side work as assigned, and participating in ongoing training to enhance skills and service delivery. Additional duties may include participating in internal review board hearings and adjusting responsibilities as necessary to meet operational needs. Physical demands include the ability to lift items up to 65 pounds and enduring periods of walking or standing. This role is well suited for individuals who thrive in dynamic, guest-focused environments and who are committed to excellence and teamwork.

Candidates for this position should have a high school diploma or GED, with some experience preferred in a similar restaurant or hospitality setting. Strong customer service skills, cash handling abilities, and problem-solving capabilities are essential. The position requires obtaining a Tribal Gaming License and mandatory certifications such as the Washington State Food Handler Permit and Alcohol Server Training within specified timeframes. Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays is necessary.

Joining the Kalispel Tribe of Indians as a Restaurant Server means becoming part of a family that values respect, pride, and excellence. The tribe’s hospitality team is committed to creating an inclusive and warm environment where every guest feels valued and cared for. If you are passionate about delivering outstanding service and want to contribute to a unique cultural and community-focused organization, this position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your career in hospitality.
