The role of Venue Assistant Manager at Northern Quest Resort and Casino is vital in supporting the Venue Manager to create an exceptional food and beverage experience within the venue and casino areas. This full-time supervisory position involves active floor engagement to maintain venue cleanliness, orderliness, and ensure smooth daily operations along with superior customer interactions. The Assistant Manager is tasked with driving food and beverage sales and profitability through strategic training, coaching, and budget management. Additionally, the role requires strict adherence to franchise and organizational policies to uphold the highest standards set forth by the resort. Working closely with culinary and service teams, the Venue Assistant Manager promotes harmony between kitchen and floor staff to deliver quality food and excellent service. This position requires hands-on leadership, problem-solving capabilities, and strong communication skills to resolve issues promptly and enhance customer satisfaction. Engaging in scheduling, staffing, supply requisitions, inventory management, and team member development are key aspects of this role. The Assistant Manager also holds responsibility for fostering a positive workplace culture by providing feedback, conducting performance appraisals, and enforcing disciplinary protocols when necessary. Candidates must be adaptable to shift changes and possess a dedication to maintaining attendance and punctuality. Job Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent hospitality industry experience
  • Minimum 2 years experience in hospitality or food and beverage supervisory or lead role
  • Experience with craft cocktails, specialty beer, and wine service
  • Experience with POS systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs and other computer software
  • Ability to work with everyday mathematical concepts including additions, subtractions, multiplications and percentages
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with department heads and employees
  • Ability to work in a 24-hour, 7 day a week operation
  • Available and willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Tribal Work Permit
  • Valid driver’s license and possession while operating Tribal Vehicle
  • Washington State Food Handler Permit within 14 days of start date
  • Mandatory Alcohol Server Training certification within 60 days of employment
  • Hepatitis A vaccination prior to first shift.

Job Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent hospitality experience

  • Familiarity with POS systems
  • Prefer inventory and budget management experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs and computer software
  • Knowledge of beverage service, mixology and wines
  • Understanding of procurement and inventory systems
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals
  • Skills in preparing reports and correspondence
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment
  • Problem solving skills under pressure
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Job Duties

  • Ensures compliance with internal controls and policies
  • Follows established work procedures and expedites work flow
  • Manage financial activity to align with venue budget for revenue, cost control and profitability
  • Write weekly work schedules and make staffing adjustments based on business volume and budgets
  • Communicate with team and culinary staff to maintain quality and service
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to relay updates and promotions
  • Assign duties and inspect work completion and organization
  • Resolve guest complaints and team member issues, escalating major incidents
  • Promote positive customer relations through efficient service
  • Monitor cleanliness, sanitation, and customer satisfaction
  • Assist and teach team members in their duties and customer service
  • Participate in interviewing, hiring, training, and monitoring team members
  • Coach, counsel, and apply corrective action as needed
  • Conduct team member performance appraisals
  • Document and report operational deficiencies
  • Complete daily shift reports
  • Manage supply requisitions and inventories
  • Provide memos and written instructions to staff
  • Ensure protection of company assets
  • Maintain availability for necessary shift changes
  • Uphold consistent attendance record
  • May serve as panelist for internal review hearings
  • Maintain guest satisfaction and team member relations according to mission.
