The Grille Manager at Onion Creek Club plays a pivotal role in delivering a high-quality dining experience within the club's grille room and other front-of-house dining areas. This full-time leadership position is responsible for managing daily service operations, supervising staff, and ensuring that every member and guest experiences attentive, personalized service in a welcoming atmosphere. Reporting to the club's management team, the Grille Manager oversees meal period preparations, reservation management, staff scheduling, and operational compliance with club and health standards.

In this role, the Grille Manager cultivates a vibrant and efficient dining environment that reflects the high standards of hospitality for which the club is known. By maintaining a strong presence during service periods such as lunch, dinner, and special club events, the manager fosters an engaging atmosphere where member preferences are recognized and lasting relationships are built. The Grille Manager collaborates closely with the Executive Chef and kitchen team to ensure seamless communication regarding menu offerings, daily specials, and service timing.

Beyond managing day-to-day operations, the Grille Manager leads initiatives for team recruitment, training, and development, including coaching servers to uphold service excellence and upselling techniques. Creating a positive work culture rooted in accountability and teamwork is a fundamental responsibility of this role. The Grille Manager also plays a key role in supporting club events, golf tournaments, and social functions by aligning the grille's service flow with overall club activity and guest traffic.

This position demands strong administrative skills, including creating staff schedules based on forecasted business needs, monitoring labor costs to maintain budgetary compliance, and overseeing point-of-sale system accuracy. Ensuring the grille meets cleanliness, safety, and operational standards consistently is critical, as is enforcing all club policies and fostering professionalism and pride in staff appearance and service etiquette.

Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • deliver a warm, attentive, and personalized dining experience for members and guests
  • maintain a strong floor presence during all service periods (lunch, dinner, and peak club events)
  • recognize member preferences and build lasting relationships
  • address and resolve service issues quickly and professionally
  • oversee daily operations of the grille room, patio dining, and all member dining spaces
  • manage reservations, waitlists, and table turns to optimize flow of service
  • ensure proper opening and closing procedures are followed
  • maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of all FOH dining areas
  • recruit, train, schedule, and supervise servers and support staff
  • lead daily pre-shift meetings, communicating menu features, events, and service priorities
  • coach staff on service standards, upselling techniques, and member engagement
  • foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment
  • work closely with the Executive Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth service execution
  • communicate menu changes, specials, and service timing expectations
  • support club events, golf tournaments, and social functions as needed
