Job Description

The role involves checking out customer purchases promptly and accurately while ensuring that every customer interaction is friendly and courteous. Reporting to Front End Managers and Managers on Duty, the Cashier/Customer Service Associate will be responsible for managing transactions at the register, assisting customers with their needs, and supporting overall store operations. This includes responding to customer inquiries, helping with special orders, and maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in their department.

The position requires an individual with strong interpersonal skills who can remain calm under pressure, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and provide proactive and friendly customer service. They will be expected to greet customers warmly, handle cash or electronic transactions correctly, and contribute to the store’s merchandising and stocking functions by ensuring shelves are fully stocked, products are labeled accurately, and inventory management is maintained. Additional responsibilities encompass department maintenance duties such as keeping shelves, coolers, and backstock neat and clean, ensuring equipment is in working order and reporting any equipment issues, and participating in regular inventory counts.

In this role, the associate will also engage with customers by informing them about store specials and events, suggesting products and preparation ideas, and professionally handling customer feedback. The candidate should be physically able to stand for long periods and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds continuously. Regular and predictable attendance is required to sustain smooth store operations. Job Duties

  • Greet customers smiling and making eye contact
  • check out customer purchases quickly and accurately using correct prices and departments
  • call for back-up as needed to minimize customer wait times
  • bag customer purchases and offer assistance including carrying out groceries
  • log in and out of registers following established procedures
  • place flyers in bags and inform customers of specials and store events
  • maintain register area in a clean and orderly condition
