Job Description

Albertsons Companies Inc. is one of the leading grocery retail companies in the United States, operating numerous stores that provide communities with essential food and household products. Established with a strong commitment to customer service and community building, Albertsons has grown into a people-focused business that prioritizes inclusivity, diversity, and employee growth. Known for its wide selection of groceries, health and wellness products, and everyday essentials, the company values creating a workplace where employees feel valued and empowered to make a difference. With an emphasis on innovative team collaboration and a culture built on core values, Albertsons fosters an environment where each team member is encouraged to bring their unique self to work and grow alongside the company.

This role is perfect for those starting in customer service, entry-level retail, or those looking to build a long-lasting career in grocery retail or related fields. Whether you're employed as a cashier, courtesy clerk, or customer service associate, you will play a critical role in ensuring a positive customer shopping experience. The company is proud to offer paid training and online learning resources to help employees build skills and advance their careers. This position is hourly, with starting wages generally no less than the local minimum wage but varying according to experience, qualifications, and location. For example, cashiers and customer service associates earn between $16.76 and $25.15 per hour, while courtesy clerks and baggers earn between $16.76 and $21.66 per hour. In Seattle, labor agreements start at $18.94 per hour.

Joining Albertsons means being part of a team dedicated to creating memorable customer interactions. Whether it’s assisting customers in finding products, ensuring shelves are stocked, or speeding up the checkout process, employees are vital in maintaining the company’s reputation for excellent service. Albertsons promotes a culture where smiling, helping others, and fostering a sense of belonging are central to daily work life. Employees are encouraged to take pride in their contributions, knowing they play a part in the community’s well-being through food access and quality service.

Moreover, Albertsons recognizes that employees are more than just workers—they are the heart of the company. To support their growth and satisfaction, the company offers benefits such as flexible scheduling to accommodate different lifestyles, associate discounts to help save on shopping, and opportunities for career advancement through leadership investment in training. Health and welfare benefits including medical, dental, and a 401(k) retirement plan are available to eligible employees, ensuring a healthy and secure future while working towards a fulfilling career. Paid vacation and time off further enhance the work-life balance for employees.

Albertsons upholds a set of core values vital to its identity: putting people first, being customer-driven, valuing diverse perspectives, constantly raising the bar, acting as owners, functioning as one team, building belonging, and committing to a healthy future. These values shape the company culture and guide employees in their everyday work, making Albertsons more than just a place to work but a place to thrive.
