Job Description
The Restaurant Store is a leading retail establishment specializing in restaurant supplies and foodservice equipment. Known as a one-stop-shop, the company is dedicated to exceeding its customers' expectations by delivering exceptional hospitality, superior quality products, and excellent value in every transaction. The company prides itself on maintaining a welcoming and efficient environment where both professional restaurateurs and home cooks can find everything they need to succeed. With a customer-centric approach and a commitment to quality, The Restaurant Store has positioned itself as a reliable partner in the foodservice industry, offering a wide range of products designed to meet diverse needs. Their operations include multiple branch locations equipped with knowledgeable staff to ensure every customer receives personalized service and expert advice. This environment fosters growth, opportunity, and innovation for employees who are eager to contribute to the company's success.
The Front End Associate role at The Restaurant Store is a pivotal position responsible for delivering a high level of customer service and ensuring satisfaction within a retail branch. In this role, the associate acts as the first point of contact for customers both in-store and over the phone, providing prompt, friendly, and effective assistance. The Front End Associate handles cashier duties with accuracy and efficiency, managing cash transactions, memberships, returns, and order assists. This role demands strong organizational skills to keep the front end of the store inviting and orderly, including maintaining checkout lanes, registers, and merchandising impulse products to boost sales. The associate also supports the smooth flow of customer traffic, minimizing wait times and enhancing the overall shopping experience.
Beyond operational duties, the Front End Associate contributes to broader business objectives by collaborating with sales, order fulfillment, merchandising, and inventory teams to align with company goals. The position requires adaptability to changing business needs and the ability to address challenging situations with diplomacy and emotional intelligence. Employees in this role will regularly engage in physical activity, including standing or walking for up to nine hours a day and lifting up to 50 pounds. They must demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including proficiency in explaining technical details simply and effectively.
The Restaurant Store values experience and skills more than formal education for this role, welcoming candidates with a high school diploma or GED or equivalent life experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and project management tools is essential to support various operational tasks and reporting. The company offers a supportive working environment with accommodations for individuals with disabilities and a commitment to diversity and inclusion. Benefits include comprehensive medical, vision, dental, paid time off, paid maternity and parental leave, and a range of insurance options, illustrating the organization's dedication to employee well-being and work-life balance.
This role is ideal for individuals with at least one year of retail or supply chain experience who are customer-service oriented and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced retail setting. The Front End Associate will be instrumental in creating positive first impressions, driving customer satisfaction, and supporting the smooth and efficient operation of The Restaurant Store's retail branches, thereby contributing directly to the success and reputation of the company.
