Job Description

The Rose Bowl Aquatics Center (RBAC) is a renowned community facility dedicated to promoting aquatic sports, fitness, and recreation. Located in the picturesque setting of Pasadena, California, RBAC serves participants of all ages and skill levels with a variety of swimming programs, water polo, diving, and fitness classes. Established with a strong commitment to community engagement and wellness, RBAC provides a welcoming and safe environment where individuals can enhance their aquatic skills, stay active, and connect with others who share a passion for water sports. The center prides itself on fostering an inclusive atmosphere supported by professional staff and exceptional customer service.

The Front Desk Customer Service position at RBAC presents an exciting opportunity for individuals who enjoy interacting with people in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role plays a crucial part in shaping visitors' first impressions by delivering outstanding service, responding to inquiries, and efficiently managing registrations and payments. As a part-time, substitute/on-call role, this position offers flexibility and the chance to gain valuable experience in customer service while supporting the operations during employee absences, vacations, and special events. Employees must be adaptable, dependable, and ready to assist guests by phone, in person, and through email correspondence.

Front desk team members are responsible for registering customers for a wide range of programs, memberships, and special events offered by RBAC, ensuring smooth and accurate processing of all transactions including cash, checks, and credit card payments. Additionally, maintaining and balancing cash drawers, checking guests into the facility, and offering membership assistance are key responsibilities. Employees will also answer general questions, resolve concerns professionally, and ensure that the front desk area remains organized and inviting. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a genuine desire to provide excellent customer support to a diverse clientele.

Scheduled hours for this position are part-time and vary based on operational needs, with no guaranteed minimum hours. The schedule requires flexibility to accommodate evenings, weekends, and holidays, emphasizing the importance of availability during these times. On average, scheduled shifts may total approximately 12 hours per week, though this fluctuates depending on the center's requirements. Starting pay ranges from $18.57 to $19.00 per hour, contingent upon qualifications and experience. While this is a non-benefited position, employees are eligible for legally mandated benefits as per RBAC policies.

Joining RBAC means becoming part of a community-focused organization dedicated to excellence in aquatic programming and customer service. The Front Desk Customer Service role is ideal for those seeking an entry-level position to develop interpersonal and administrative skills in a supportive setting with opportunities for growth and engagement in meaningful work that supports health and recreation in the local community.
