The Front Desk Team Member at Gold's Gym plays a critical role as the first point of contact for all members, guests, and staff entering the facility. This full-time role involves not only greeting and directing members but also maintaining security and control at the front door location. The position requires a dynamic individual who can provide exemplary customer service while managing administrative duties under the guidance of the Gym General Manager. The Front Desk Team Member is responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere, ensuring smooth operations, and handling member inquiries about gym policies and procedures. Key duties include checking members in accurately, monitoring account statuses, registering guests, assisting with retail sales, and managing phone communications professionally. Furthermore, the role demands vigilance in maintaining the facility’s safety by reporting incidents and addressing maintenance concerns promptly.
This position supports the gym’s membership sales process by helping sign up new members and managing account adjustments, including freeze and cancellation requests. The Front Desk Team Member also assists in coordinating class registrations via apps and maintains inventory for retail and concession areas. Physical requirements include the ability to bend, squat, lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly, and stand for extended periods. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts is essential. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent customer service skills are required
- Organized, structured, and friendly coupled with a passion for fitness
- Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Understanding of basic cash processing procedures
- Ability to proficiently use POS and CRM systems or any other computer programs required to meet the business needs of the club
- Ability to multi-task
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule to include holidays and weekends
- Must be able to bend, squat, and lift upwards of 50lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods of time
- Comply with all Gold's Gym policies and procedures

Job Duties
- Warmly greet and direct members, guests, and staff as they enter the gym
- Provide front door security and control
- Check members into the gym using proper procedures
- Monitor check-ins to identify delinquent accounts and notify management
- Register guests following proper procedures
- Direct guests and appointments to personal trainers promptly
- Professionally answer phone calls and take messages
- Respond to member requests and inquiries immediately
- Maintain a neat appearance and wear proper uniform with nametag
- Distribute keys, towels, and materials as needed
- Process retail and concession sales
- Maintain stocked cooler and retail inventory
- Attend staff meetings as directed
- Clean and maintain front desk area to company standards
- Log maintenance concerns and report safety issues
- Notify management of incidents requiring reports
- Work scheduled hours adhering to attendance policies
- Perform light cleaning and weight pickup during gym walkthroughs
- Assist with membership sales and member sign-up
- Assign member barcodes, take photos, and schedule personal training sessions
- Manage member account changes
- Help receive and check retail and concession orders
- Assist members with class registration via app
- Perform other reasonable work assignments as directed
