The Team Lead position at Pickleland is integral to realizing the vision of becoming the best pickleball facility ever created. This role is centered around leading the front desk staff and ensuring extraordinary customer service is delivered daily. You will be responsible for building a professional, knowledgeable, and friendly front desk team that fully embodies the Pickleland culture. Beyond day-to-day operations, the Team Lead will shape the customer journey, facilitate staff development, and help boost overall member retention.
This leadership role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities including staff hiring, scheduling, training, career development, and performance management. Moreover, the Team Lead supports the club’s broader objectives by promoting ancillary services such as coaching programs, pro shop merchandise, and special events. The position is ideal for someone passionate about customer service, excited to foster a positive environment, and enthusiastic about pickleball. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience in customer service or front desk leadership roles
- Ability to work variable shifts including early mornings, late nights, weekends
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage and motivate a team
- Proficient with scheduling and facility management software
- Dependable and reliable
- Successful completion of a background check if required
- Physical ability to stand or sit for extended periods
- Capability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
Job Qualifications
- Must love pickleball or have the curiosity to learn more about it
- Knowledgeable with pickleball rules and gear (bonus)
- Strong leadership abilities and empathy
- High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred
- Outgoing and friendly personality with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service orientation
- Proficient in Google Suite, Slack, and facility management and shift scheduling software
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Dependable and reliable
- Successful completion of a background check may be required
- Familiarity with court scheduling software such as PodPlay, CourtReserve, etc (bonus)
- CPR certified (bonus)
- TABC (Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission) certification (bonus)
Job Duties
- Hire and develop front desk staff to be proficient in all things Pickleland including culture, customer service, use of applications and software to run and maintain the facility
- In charge of staff scheduling making sure that all shifts are covered
- Ensure high membership retention
- Promote other services of the club such as coaching, pro shop merchandise, and special events
- Create an awesome customer service experience
- Ensure high retention of staff
- Cover front desk duties when necessary
- Manage staff including scheduling, conducting performance reviews, training, coaching and resolving employee concerns
- Collaborate with management on personnel decisions and issues as needed
- Ensure staff, members, and visitors adherence with all facility policies and procedures
