This position is based at the brand-new Springhill Suites Jacksonville Beach Oceanfront. This hotel features 156 all-suite accommodations and is situated directly on the beautiful Jacksonville Beach, adjacent to the iconic Jacksonville Beach Fishing Pier. The hotel’s design blends elegance and modern style with stunning oceanfront views, complemented by an on-site oceanfront restaurant and bar, making it a sought-after destination for guests seeking both comfort and sophistication.
The role focuses on supervising all aspects of the Front Desk operations in accordance with Shaner Hotel Group's high standards. As a Front Desk Supervisor, you will be responsible for directing, implementing, and maintaining a strong service and management philosophy that inspires and guides the front desk team. This position requires attention to detail, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to foster a welcoming environment for guests while ensuring seamless front desk operations. You will play a critical role in managing guest services from check-in to check-out, addressing and resolving guest complaints with professionalism, and supporting staff in delivering efficient, courteous service.
This is a role that demands flexibility, as it includes working a varied schedule with shifts that may include weekends and holidays. Familiarity with hotel features, room types, rates, availability, and expected guest arrivals and departures will be essential to effectively support front desk operations. The position also involves handling payments and adhering strictly to cash handling and credit procedures. Maintaining cleanliness and organization in assigned areas will contribute to the guest experience and hotel standards.
In addition to your leadership duties, you will assist staff with their job functions to optimize guest service delivery. The role requires the ability to communicate effectively with guests, management, and team members while ensuring guest satisfaction and upholding the company’s values. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are considered a plus, as is knowledge of local activities and attractions relevant to the clientele served by the hotel. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- minimum one year experience in a front desk or customer service role
- availability to work flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
- effective communication skills
- ability to handle guest complaints professionally
- familiarity with hotel reservation systems
- ability to maintain cleanliness and organization
- ability to process payments following cash handling policies
Job Qualifications
- minimum one year experience in a similar position
- prior supervisory experience a plus
- ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding
- high school graduate or equivalent, some college preferred
- bilingual english/spanish a plus
- knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for clientele
Job Duties
- be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts
