Our Front Office Manager position is a critical role within the hotel, responsible for overseeing the functioning and staffing of the front office team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of guest services and maintaining an efficient work environment. The role requires a leader who can manage a diverse team comprising front desk agents, supervisors, guest service aides, bell staff, concierge staff, and PBX operators. The Front Office Manager is expected to have a thorough understanding of the front office duties themselves, with the ability to step in and perform these tasks whenever necessary.
This role entails managing staffing levels, coordinating hiring and training processes, supervising daily activities, and scheduling personnel to meet the demands of the hotel’s busy operation. A significant part of the role involves managing daily transactions using the MICROS system, ensuring accuracy in all reports including discrepancy reports, and maintaining clear communication channels with other departments such as Housekeeping and Engineering. Guest interaction is also a key element, requiring professional and courteous engagement with visitors, from greeting and checking in to addressing inquiries and fulfilling requests. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a calm demeanor when dealing with high-demand or upset guests and possess a strong work ethic with self-initiative. Flexibility is important, as the role may require working varying schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays. This position is best suited for someone who thrives in a team environment and is passionate about creating outstanding guest experiences. This is an in-office role demanding physical stamina for prolonged periods of desk work combined with occasional standing, walking, and other physical activities. The position demands excellent verbal and written communication skills, fine motor skills for computer use, and the ability to manage workloads effectively. Job Requirements

- Frequent fine motor skills use of hands and fingers for keyboarding typing utilizing a mouse or trackpad writing and operating office equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Occasionally required to stand walk bend reach or carry items
- Ability to lift and or move 10-25 pounds as needed eg files office supplies
- Visual ability to read from a computer screen and printed materials including close visual focus for extended periods and color differentiation for certain roles
- Ability to hear and participate in conversations and meetings use phone and or headset

Job Duties
- Ensure proper staffing levels of front office associates including interviewing hiring supervising training and scheduling front desk agents front office supervisors guest service aides bell staff concierge staff and PBX operators
- Have complete understanding of front office staffs roles and duties and be able to perform duties at any given time
- Accurately manage and operate the MICROS system at the front office including all daily transactions and those which are not performed often
- Accurately check AM and PM discrepancy reports
- Communicate with Housekeeping and Engineering Departments regarding guest rooms requests and maintenance requests needs
- Efficiently process guest requests to the appropriate departments
- Greet and communicate cordially with guests promptly and professionally checking them in and out of the hotel answering questions and assisting guests with needs
