As part of Hilton's Tapestry Collection, the Bethesdan Hotel combines the brand's hallmark commitment to quality with a unique, local flavor that reflects the vibrant community of Bethesda. The hotel prides itself on delivering an exceptional guest experience through attentive service, comfortable accommodations, and a welcoming atmosphere.
We are currently seeking a personable and dedicated Full-Time Front Desk Supervisor to join our dynamic team. This supervisory role is pivotal in ensuring smooth operations at the front desk while simultaneously maximizing revenues and guest satisfaction. As the Front Desk Supervisor, you will oversee daily activities of the front desk staff, manage schedules, and ensure compliance with company policies and standards of operation. Your leadership will directly influence the overall guest experience, driving repeat business and positive reviews.
The position requires a flexible schedule including the ability to work any shift, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the 24/7 nature of the hospitality industry. Key responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training front desk associates, conducting performance evaluations, resolving staff and guest issues, and implementing discipline when necessary. You will act as a role model in momentous situations including emergencies or peak business hours by maintaining calmness and professionalism.
Customer interaction is at the core of this role. You will address guest requests, complaints, and concerns, offering tailored solutions that enhance satisfaction. Your proactive approach to guest services and team motivation will ensure the staff provides exceptional hospitality aligned with company programs and operational standards.
Additionally, the Front Desk Supervisor monitors adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Local Standard Operating Procedures (LSOPs), ensuring operational consistency and maximizing revenue opportunities. The role demands strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to produce detailed reports on room availability and revenue generation. A professional demeanor, mathematical aptitude, and effective use of technology in hospitality management systems are also essential.
The Bethesdan Hotel values teamwork, professionalism, and a positive work culture. We seek candidates who can maintain a polished appearance, contribute collaboratively with peers, and exhibit patience, tact, and diplomacy when engaging with customers and coworkers. Safety and security compliance is paramount, requiring vigilance and adherence to hotel policies, especially regarding key control, lifting protocols, and hazard reporting.
This job description outlines the primary functions, but additional duties may be assigned by management as needed. The employment is at-will, meaning either party can terminate the relationship at any time.
