Job Description
Gymkhana Gymnastics is a well-established gymnastics school located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with over forty years of experience providing top-notch gymnastics instruction to children. The company has built a reputation as Pittsburgh's premier gymnastics institution, known for fostering the physical, emotional, and social development of children through exceptional gymnastics programs. Gymkhana operates multiple locations including Monroeville, Point Breeze, Wexford, and Bethel Park, and remains a prominent fixture in the community through its dedication to quality and growth. The school is proud of the positive impact it has on children, not only helping them develop athletic skills but also boosting their confidence, awareness, concentration, and perseverance. As a business that values continuous growth and improvement, Gymkhana offers a supportive and dynamic environment for both its students and staff.
Currently, Gymkhana Gymnastics is seeking friendly, enthusiastic, and multi-tasking individuals to join their team as Front Desk Staff. This is a vital role where staff members serve as the first point of contact for children, parents, and visitors, ensuring a warm and efficient experience. The position is part-time with year-round availability preferred, and there are opportunities to work daytime, evening, and weekend hours depending on location and schedule needs. The starting compensation is between $12 and $14 per hour, with pay rate dependent on experience. Although prior gymnastics knowledge or experience with children is advantageous, Gymkhana primarily requires candidates who have at least one year of experience working with the general public in customer service, retail, or similar environments. Applicants should be comfortable with technology, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate adaptability, self-motivation, and a willingness to learn.
In this role, Front Desk Staff are responsible for various administrative and customer service tasks that support the smooth operation of Gymkhana's programs. They provide accurate program information, greet visitors, manage registrations and payments, assist with billing, and ensure the Pro Shop is organized and sales transactions are processed correctly. The staff also handle phone calls and emails professionally, directing inquiries to the appropriate personnel when needed. Secondary duties may include supporting instructors during emergencies, distributing first aid supplies, helping maintain cleanliness in the facility, and creating engaging bulletin board displays.
Working at Gymkhana Gymnastics offers a unique opportunity to be part of a dedicated team that influences children's growth and development positively. The role requires physical activity such as walking on uneven surfaces, moving small mats, and climbing stairs, ensuring that employees stay active during their shift. Gymkhana's commitment to its mission and employees fosters a collaborative culture where staff members are encouraged to contribute to the ongoing success and friendly atmosphere of the gyms. By joining Gymkhana Gymnastics, employees become part of a valued community that prioritizes quality instruction, safety, and fun for children while offering meaningful career experience in a supportive setting.
