Job Description
Spire Orthopedic Partners is a rapidly growing national partnership of orthopedic practices committed to providing extensive support, capital, and operational resources to physicians. This backing enables physicians to successfully develop thriving practices prepared for future advancements and challenges. As a Management Services Organization (MSO), Spire focuses on delivering the administrative infrastructure required for orthopedic practices to function efficiently. This allows doctors to dedicate more time and energy to what matters most - patient care.
Based in Stamford, Connecticut, Spire's expansive network includes more than 165 orthopedic physicians, approximately 1,800 employees, 285 other clinical providers, and operates out of 40 locations across the Northeast states of New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. The organization's mission emphasizes operational excellence and patient-focused care, tightly integrating medical expertise with top-notch administrative support.
Within this network, Ortho Rhode Island stands as a world-class group dedicated to orthopedic excellence, combining the efforts of highly skilled providers and professionals who are committed to delivering value, quality, and superior patient experiences. Ortho Rhode Island’s team members are united by core values: honoring commitments, respecting each other, driving innovation in orthopedics, appreciating individual contributions, and actively engaging with the community. This ethos underpins all patient interactions and workplace collaborations.
The role of Front Desk Specialist at Spire Orthopedic Partners is crucial for maintaining smooth daily clinical operations and ensuring a positive patient experience from the moment patients enter the facility. Scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., this position involves directly welcoming patients, efficiently managing registration and check-out processes, and acting as a first line of communication within the clinic environment.
As a Front Desk Specialist, you will engage with patients warmly, ensuring accurate and up-to-date registration of demographic and insurance information. You will verify insurance eligibility and benefits, document referrals, and handle copay and balance collections with professionalism. The specialist will also triage patients appropriately and assist in scheduling future appointments and tests, ensuring seamless flow and organization throughout the day.
This role demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage sensitive information discreetly, adhering to HIPAA regulations. Experience with Microsoft Office suites such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is valued, along with knowledge of medical terminology. Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is considered a plus, reflecting the diverse patient population served.
Spire Orthopedic Partners offers competitive compensation, excellent opportunities for career advancement within a dynamic and supportive environment, and generous paid time off. Employees benefit from a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, along with retirement plans such as a 401(k). The workplace culture emphasizes diversity, inclusivity, and equitable treatment for all, ensuring a respectful and empowering atmosphere for employees and patients alike.
Joining as a Front Desk Specialist means becoming part of a respected organization that values innovation, collaboration, and a patient-centric approach to orthopedic healthcare. You will contribute significantly to delivering high-quality service and operational excellence that supports both clinical teams and patients throughout their care journey. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about healthcare administration, patient relations, and working in a vibrant, mission-driven setting.
