The role of Communications Specialist (Front Desk) at Greenspring Village is integral to creating a warm and welcoming environment for residents, families, visitors, and staff. As the friendly face upon arrival, the Communications Specialist sets the tone and fosters an inviting atmosphere by efficiently greeting guests and addressing their inquiries. This position is fast-paced and requires the ability to multitask while managing diverse daily responsibilities with a strong focus on resident satisfaction and operational support. Communication and interpersonal skills are key, as the specialist handles emergency calls, dispatches personnel, monitors resident safety systems such as emergency pull cords, and keeps accurate records related to resident status, hospitalizations, and package delivery.
This position operates during weekend shifts from 3pm to 9pm, with additional flexibility offered through on-call opportunities. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in a receptionist or customer service role preferred
- Ability to work weekend shifts from 3pm to 9pm
- Flexibility for on-call shifts
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Must be at least 18 years of age

Job Duties
- Greet and direct residents, visitors, and staff, handle questions and concerns efficiently
- Receive emergency calls from residents and staff and dispatch appropriate personnel
- Page on-call physicians as needed accurately and calmly
- Monitor all emergency pull cords for Independent Living residents
- Track status of residents involved in incidents, such as hospital transport
- Manage resident lists alphabetically and by apartment
- Assist with maintaining accurate census information, hospitalizations, deaths, and track residents who are away and returning
- Log all resident packages and notify residents of package pick-up via notice
- Assure all mail is dispatched through U.S. Mail at the end of each day
- Sort and distribute all inter-office mail
