As a reputable employer in the healthcare sector, the organization fosters a welcoming and professional environment where employees are valued for their contributions to patient care and office efficiency. This full-time position offers competitive pay ranging from $15.00 to $17.00 per hour, including a strong benefits package designed to support the well-being and growth of its team members. Employees are expected to work primarily day shifts from Monday to Friday, with some rotating weekends, and may occasionally be required to work at other local offices.
The role of the Optical Office Coordinator is integral to the smooth operation of the practice and the delivery of high-quality patient experiences. In this role, the coordinator acts as the liaison between patients and healthcare providers, ensuring seamless communication and scheduling. Responsibilities include managing multi-line phone systems, updating and verifying insurance information, and obtaining necessary insurance authorizations. The position requires leading patients through preliminary eye exam procedures, including assisting in pretesting and conducting patient prescreening analyses. The coordinator must maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality while handling sensitive information. The ability to multitask, stay organized, and adapt to new responsibilities is essential for success in this dynamic role. Previous experience in a doctor’s office or optical environment is preferred but not mandatory.
