Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • one year of customer service experience
  • one year of relevant front desk experience in healthcare preferred
  • certification in scheduling and registration preferred
  • knowledge of medical terminology
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
  • attention to detail and organizational skills
  • ability to multitask and take initiative
  • willingness to use personal protective equipment as required

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Job Duties

  • Receives and screens visitors and telephone calls
  • provides general information in person and on the telephone
  • verifies patient demographic information including insurance verification prior to patient visits
  • performs data entry of patient demographic information
  • registers all patients at each visit using established policies
  • receives and documents patient payments including copays and past balances
  • schedules patients for physician visits and maintains appointment calendars
  • processes referral requests by physicians and patients in a timely manner
  • notifies clinical personnel of patient arrival
  • processes and delivers departmental mail
  • tracks labs and follows up with lab companies when errors occur
  • coordinates faxes, files, and office information
  • processes and maintains medical records according to protocols
  • checks out each patient including charge entry, scheduling future appointments, and facilitating referrals
  • performs other duties as assigned
