We are currently seeking a full-time Front Desk Receptionist for our Tallahassee office who will play a vital role in the daily operations and patient interactions at Elite DNA. This role involves supervising the receptionist staff to ensure a welcoming and efficient front desk operation, managing incoming patient contacts, telephone communications, scheduling, and clerical tasks with professionalism. The Front Desk Receptionist will be instrumental in maintaining smooth patient flow, managing appointments, verifying patient insurance and billing information, and handling payments and deposits according to policy. This is a frontline position pivotal to enhancing patient experience and supporting clinical staff in delivering timely care. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication capabilities, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced office. Bilingual fluency in Spanish is preferred, highlighting our commitment to serving diverse communities.

Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED
  • formal training from vocational school may substitute
  • at least one year medical experience in a similar setting
  • friendly demeanor and desire to work with public
  • patience and kindness under pressure
  • ability to multitask effectively
  • ability to work in a fast-paced office
  • capability to push, pull, lift, move, and carry up to 15 pounds
  • dexterity, good hearing, and visual acuity
  • ability to sit and stand for extended periods
  • proficiency in office equipment including computer, copier, fax, phone
  • typing speed of at least 35 words per minute
  • excellent interpersonal skills for communication via phone, email, and written correspondence
  • knowledge of medical terminology and triage
  • ability to interact positively with diverse ethnic, religious, and economic backgrounds
  • strong problem-solving communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED, formal vocational training accepted, minimum one year medical experience in similar setting, strong communication skills, proficiency with office equipment and Microsoft Office, ability to work in fast-paced environment, ability to handle multiple tasks, knowledge of medical terminology and triage procedures, ability to relate well with diverse patient populations, bilingual in Spanish preferred

Job Duties

  • Welcome patients and explain services, schedule appointments and manage walk-ins, answer and route incoming calls, register patients and collect documentation, verify insurance coverage and compute charges, collect deposits and co-pays, process outstanding balances and issue receipts, coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow, remind patients of appointments, follow up on no-shows, communicate patient concerns to management, maintain strong sensory and communication skills, manage patient flow with clinic managers, utilize Microsoft Office and office equipment, promote company mission, bilingual in Spanish preferred
