The Receptionist position at Ingram Micro is based at the corporate office in Buffalo, New York, and is designed to support and enhance the security operations of the facility. This full-time, onsite role requires the incumbent to work five days a week and acts as the front line in managing visitor access and safety protocols. Reporting directly to the Director of Corporate Security, the Receptionist collaborates closely with security professionals to maintain a secure and welcoming environment. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including greeting and directing visitors, verifying identities, issuing badges, and maintaining meticulous sign-in and sign-out logs. Monitoring security systems such as badge access controls, CCTV, and intrusion alarms is a critical aspect, ensuring that only authorized personnel gain entry to restricted areas.
Additionally, the Receptionist plays a vital role in surveillance monitoring to detect and report suspicious activities promptly. In emergency situations, the Receptionist serves as the first point of contact, responsible for alerting leadership and coordinating emergency responses. Administrative duties are also integral to this position, encompassing tasks such as data entry, word processing, communication management, and liaising with building management and facilities teams. The Receptionist is a key member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT), participating in safety meetings, fire drills, and ongoing compliance with Ingram Micro’s global safety and security policies.
Compensation for this role ranges from USD 36,600 to USD 54,900 per year, depending on factors like the candidate’s location, experience, and specific job responsibilities. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of three years experience in security roles within corporate office environments
- Experience with access control systems and CCTV monitoring
- Ability to work on-site five days a week in Buffalo, NY
- Must pass a drug test and pre-employment background check
- Strong attention to detail and integrity
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with security professionals and other staff
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Three or more years of experience in a corporate office environment within a security-based role
- Experience managing accounts with access controls and CCTV
- Previous experience interfacing with executives

- Knowledge of security and safety protocols
Job Duties
- Greet and direct visitors, verify identities, issue visitor badges, and maintain sign-in/sign-out logs
- Monitor entry and exit points, manage security systems such as badge access, CCTV, and intrusion alarms, ensuring only authorized personnel enter restricted areas
- Observe CCTV and other security systems to detect suspicious activity and report incidents promptly
- Act as the first point of contact during emergencies, alert leadership, and coordinate emergency medical response or other safety procedures
- Perform clerical tasks such as data entry, word processing, managing phone and email communications, and interfacing with building management and facilities teams
- Ensure visitors are escorted in the building by an Ingram Micro associate
- Manage security and alarm access
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of Ingram Micro Global security and safety policies and ensure compliance
- Serve as a member of the emergency response team (ERT), participate in monthly safety meetings, schedule and conduct fire drills in coordination with facilities leaders
