Job Description
Ingram Micro is a renowned global technology company that plays a critical role in the worldwide information technology ecosystem. Established as a leader in IT sales and service distribution, Ingram Micro connects technology manufacturers and cloud providers to a diverse network of business-to-business technology experts. The company’s extensive reach covers nearly 90 percent of the global population, making it an influential player in the IT channel. Their dynamic service portfolio, combined with the innovative digital platform Ingram Micro Xvantage™, distinguishes them as a forward-thinking organization to watch in the industry. Ingram Micro is headquartered in Sacramento, California, and operates numerous offices worldwide, including a key sales headquarters in downtown Buffalo, New York, where this role will be based.
Ingram Micro is currently seeking a Receptionist to join their corporate security team at the Buffalo office. This is a full-time, onsite position requiring five days per week attendance. The Receptionist role is vital for maintaining the safety and security of the corporate facility by supporting the Security Professional through front desk operations and administrative duties. The individual in this role will be the first point of contact for visitors and employees entering the facility, ensuring smooth visitor management by greeting and directing guests, verifying identities, issuing visitor badges, and managing sign-in and sign-out logs.
Additionally, the Receptionist will oversee access control points within the building by monitoring security systems such as badge access controls, CCTV, and intrusion alarms to ensure authorized access only. Surveillance monitoring plays a significant part in the position, requiring the receptionist to observe video feeds and identify any suspicious activities promptly. The role also includes emergency response responsibilities, serving as the immediate contact in case of incidents, coordinating with leadership and emergency teams to follow safety protocols efficiently.
Administrative support is another key component, involving data entry, managing communication via phone and email, and supporting overall office security procedures. The role requires familiarity with Ingram Micro’s global security policies, and participation in the Emergency Response Team (ERT) is mandatory. The Receptionist will collaborate with facilities leadership to implement and update safety measures such as scheduling and conducting fire drills. This position offers a competitive salary range between $36,600 to $54,900 annually, which depends on factors including location, experience, and role complexity.
Apart from competitive pay, Ingram Micro offers a robust benefits package, including healthcare coverage, paid time off, parental leave, a 401(k) plan with company match, disability coverage, basic life insurance, and wellness programs. Candidates must be prepared to pass a drug test and a post-offer background check. Ingram Micro values diversity, equity, and inclusion, providing equal employment opportunities regardless of race, gender, age, or other protected characteristics. Joining Ingram Micro means becoming part of a team that's driving the future of technology across the globe, offering an engaging, supportive work environment with opportunities for professional growth and development.
