The Front Desk Receptionist role at Fort Sanders Health & Fitness Center is integral to delivering exceptional customer service and operational efficiency. This position offers variable hours and shifts on a PRN (pro re nata, or as-needed) basis, making it a flexible opportunity for individuals interested in working in a vibrant and friendly fitness environment. Additional duties include managing check-ins and guest registrations, handling monetary transactions for various programs and fees, and monitoring inventory supplies related to guest services. The receptionist also supports community-building initiatives like the Perkville Rewards program, aiding members in redeeming points and distributing rewards.
Participating actively in special fitness center events and supporting other departments such as housekeeping, youth development, and aquatics highlight the collaborative nature of this role. The ideal candidate will follow all policies, procedures, and safety standards diligently, participate in ongoing education, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. While no formal education or prior experience is strictly required, candidates with a high school diploma or GED may be preferred. Job Duties
- Answer phones, route callers, take messages and provide general information to callers in a courteous and professional manner
- Greet customers, visitors, and patients while providing direction
- Determine the nature of their business and assist visitors and guests to various locations on the FSW campus as needed
- Respond in a timely manner to member requests, inquiries, and concerns
- Check each member/guest into the Fitness Center and provide guest registration
- Collect payment for guest fees and follow check-in procedures
- Distribute keys and equipment and maintain towel supplies
- Review informational materials each shift to stay updated on changes and announcements
- Use the established sign-up system to reserve equipment and record checkouts
- Manage program enrollment and money transactions including guest fees, personal training fees, and camp fees
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the front desk area
- Complete all closing checklist tasks
- Assist with Perkville Rewards program including point redemptions and merchandise distribution
- Prepare daily deposit and cash drawer reports for management
- Support other departments such as housekeeping, youth development, and aquatics
- Participate in special fitness center events
- Follow all policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Complete annual education assignments
- Work towards goals and participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned
