Now, Familia Dental is seeking compassionate, patient-focused individuals to join its team at the Madison, WI location as Front Desk Receptionists. This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity requiring no prior experience or certification, as the company provides comprehensive on-the-job training to help new hires succeed in their roles. As a Front Desk Receptionist, your primary responsibility will be to manage patient check-ins, verify insurance eligibility, schedule and reschedule appointments efficiently, and collect payments for services rendered. Your role will be critical in creating a welcoming and smooth experience for patients while supporting the clinical team by maintaining accurate patient records and adhering to insurance protocols.

The position involves daily interaction with patients, requiring patience, empathy, and strong communication skills to manage sensitive situations effectively. Besides greeting patients, you will answer phones, schedule appointments, verify insurance eligibility, and submit claims to insurance companies. You will also participate in office meetings, chart reviews, and morning huddles, contributing to the overall team efficiency and patient care. Understanding and adherence to HIPAA regulations and OSHA safety standards are crucial to maintaining confidentiality and workplace safety.

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment and are eager to learn and grow within the dental field. Previous dental office experience is preferred but not required, making this a perfect starting point for those new to dental administration. The working schedule typically runs Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 6:15 PM, with occasional Saturday shifts, providing a consistent yet dynamic work environment. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • No prior experience or certification required
  • Ability to work 30-40 hours per week including some Saturdays
  • Availability for full shifts of 8-10 hours
  • Patience and ability to be sensitive to patient emotions
  • Ability to listen and follow directions
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA
  • Knowledge of safety standards and OSHA regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Excellent customer/patient service and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand information and communicate one-on-one with patients
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Experience with dental management software preferred

  • Previous dental office experience preferred but not required

Job Duties

  • Greet and check in patients
  • Answer the phone and schedule appointments
  • Maintain patient accounts and records
  • Know and understand insurance plan rules and protocols and follow them
  • Have patience and sensitivity to patient emotions
  • Listen to patients and follow instructions from Dentist or supervisor
  • Verify patient's insurance
  • Ensure all record keeping requirements are completed accurately
  • Submit claims to insurance companies
  • Notify Office Manager of equipment trouble or safety concerns
  • Attend and participate in morning huddles, chart reviews and office meetings
  • Follow company policies and procedures
  • Understand and comply with HIPAA regulations and OSHA laws
  • Perform other tasks as assigned
