Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- No prior experience or certification required
- Ability to work 30-40 hours per week including some Saturdays
- Availability for full shifts of 8-10 hours
- Patience and ability to be sensitive to patient emotions
- Ability to listen and follow directions
- Basic computer knowledge
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA
- Knowledge of safety standards and OSHA regulations
Job Qualifications
- Excellent customer/patient service and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand information and communicate one-on-one with patients
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
- Basic computer knowledge
- Experience with dental management software preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Interpersonal and listening skills
- Previous dental office experience preferred but not required
- Training provided
Job Duties
- Greet and check in patients
- Answer the phone and schedule appointments
- Maintain patient accounts and records
- Know and understand insurance plan rules and protocols and follow them
- Have patience and sensitivity to patient emotions
- Listen to patients and follow instructions from Dentist or supervisor
- Verify patient's insurance
- Ensure all record keeping requirements are completed accurately
- Submit claims to insurance companies
- Notify Office Manager of equipment trouble or safety concerns
- Attend and participate in morning huddles, chart reviews and office meetings
- Follow company policies and procedures
- Understand and comply with HIPAA regulations and OSHA laws
- Perform other tasks as assigned
