Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in medical front desk or administrative role preferred
- proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- strong communication skills
- knowledge of insurance verification and billing processes
- ability to handle confidential patient information responsibly
- excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- additional certification in medical office administration is a plus
- proven experience as a front desk representative or in a similar role within a healthcare setting
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on providing exceptional customer service
- strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- proficiency in using electronic medical record systems and other relevant software
- knowledge of medical terminology insurance billing and coding procedures
- familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality
- detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in data entry and record-keeping
- ability to remain calm and composed under pressure and effectively resolve conflicts
Job Duties
- Greet and welcome patients and visitors providing a warm and friendly atmosphere
- register patients by accurately collecting and verifying personal and insurance information
- schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar effectively
- answer incoming calls and address inquiries providing accurate and helpful information
- coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers both internally and externally
- verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for medical services
- collect co-payments and process patient payments accurately
- maintain electronic medical records and ensure data integrity
- collaborate with medical staff to ensure efficient patient flow and minimal wait times
- assist with administrative tasks such as filing faxing and organizing documents
- maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations
