The Front Desk Agent position at Fairmont Austin is an essential role responsible for delivering professional, friendly, and engaging service to all guests. Reporting directly to the Front Office Manager, this role involves greeting guests upon arrival, checking them in seamlessly, and managing guest accounts with accuracy while adhering to service standards. The agent is also tasked with assisting guests by providing valuable information about hotel facilities and ensuring that each guest interaction is positive and memorable. Key responsibilities include responding promptly to guests approaching the reception desk, driving revenue through up-selling premium room brands, and adhering strictly to departmental policies, procedures, and safety standards. This position demands a high level of professionalism, excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Job Requirements
- Previous customer related experience preferred
- Previous PMS experience an asset
Job Qualifications
- Proficiency in English (verbal and written), second language an asset
- Computer literate in Microsoft Windows applications an asset
- Must be able to type 25 words per minute
- Must possess a professional presentation
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- Highly responsible and reliable
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
Job Duties
- Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
- Greet, check in and settle guest accounts while ensuring all service standards are followed
- Assist guests regarding hotel facilities in an informative and helpful way
- Respond to each guest who approaches the reception desk
- Drive rate through up-selling room brands
- Follow department policies, procedures and service standards
