The available position is a Front Desk Manager role, an essential part of the Sonesta hotel operations team. This role involves managing front desk activities during assigned shifts to ensure guests are welcomed promptly with professional and personalized attention. The Front Desk Manager acts as the pivotal point for maintaining seamless front office operations, overseeing employee scheduling, training, guest relations, and compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. They are responsible for upholding brand standards, managing desk merchandising, and ensuring the front office and public areas reflect the high-quality standards Sonesta is known for. This role also includes operational oversight such as monitoring staff performance, addressing potential conflicts, and assisting with revenue maximization.

Additionally, the Front Desk Manager is critical in fostering teamwork across departments including Accounting, Revenue Management, Sales and Marketing, Catering, Food and Beverage, Housekeeping, and Maintenance. This position may also serve as a "manager on duty," requiring quick decision-making and leadership throughout the property. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of 1-2 years experience in hotel front desk or related role
  • demonstrated ability to supervise and lead a team
  • strong customer service orientation
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • knowledge of hotel management software systems
  • understanding of safety and emergency protocols
  • reliable and professional demeanor

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Manage all aspects of front desk operations for assigned shift
  • schedule employees to ensure proper coverage and assigned posts and duties
  • monitor performance and recommend/initiate corrective and/or disciplinary action according with company policies
  • ensure all staff is properly trained in service expectations and safety procedures
  • ensure guests receive prompt, professional service and handle complaints effectively
  • communicate and assist in achieving departmental goals related to guest satisfaction, revenue, and profit
  • manage labor costs and expenses within budget
  • assist in managing hotel revenue generation through full utilization of company systems
  • ensure security procedures are followed for financial transactions and guest security
  • conduct routine inspections of front office and public areas and correct deficiencies
  • promote teamwork and quality service through communication with other departments
  • may serve as manager on duty as required
  • perform other duties including assisting staff during peak periods
