Currently, The Ghoman Group is seeking a dedicated and experienced Front Desk Manager to join the team at the Marriott Chicago Northwest, located in Hoffman Estates, IL. This is a full-time, permanent, on-site position offering a competitive annual salary ranging from $45,000 to $75,000, along with performance-based bonus opportunities and comprehensive benefits. As the Front Desk Manager, the successful candidate will oversee the front office operations ensuring the highest level of guest satisfaction is consistently achieved. The role demands a leader with a genuine passion for hospitality, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage and motivate front desk staff effectively. The Front Desk Manager will be accountable for supervising daily operations, managing guest interactions, handling concerns and complaints professionally, and coordinating closely with other hotel departments such as Housekeeping, Engineering, Food & Beverage, and Sales to provide seamless guest experiences.
This leadership role requires the creation and management of staff schedules to guarantee adequate coverage at all times, along with regular performance evaluations and coaching to enhance the team's productivity and service quality. The manager will also play a critical role in maximizing revenue through strategic room inventory management and upselling, alongside accurate handling of billing processes and financial reporting. Maintaining compliance with hotel policies, Marriott brand standards, and safety regulations is an integral part of the position.
Ideal candidates will bring a minimum of two years of supervisory experience in a hotel front desk environment, preferably with Marriott or other major hotel brands, and have a strong working knowledge of property management systems such as Opera Cloud or similar. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience in front desk supervisory or management role within a hotel environment
- Experience with hotel property management systems such as Opera Cloud or similar
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to handle guest concerns professionally
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to work onsite at Marriott Chicago Northwest, Hoffman Estates, IL
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years of front desk supervisory or front desk manager experience in a hotel environment
- Strong knowledge of hotel front office operations and guest service procedures
- Previous experience with Marriott or other major hotel brands preferred
- Experience using hotel property management systems such as Opera Cloud or Opera PMS
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment
Job Duties
- Oversee daily operations of the front desk and front office department
- Supervise, train, coach, and evaluate front desk agents and guest service associates
- Ensure efficient guest check-in and check-out procedures
- Handle guest concerns, complaints, and special requests professionally and promptly
- Maintain high levels of guest satisfaction and service quality
- Create staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage for all shifts
- Monitor employee performance and provide ongoing coaching and development
