Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years experience as front desk manager
  • Supervisory experience required
  • Ability to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and frequently stand and move throughout the hotel
  • Experience in hotel or hospitality field preferred
  • Ability to manage budgets and control labor costs
  • Must be able to respond to emergencies and handle guest complaints professionally
  • Understanding of union environments a plus

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Some college education preferred
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a front desk manager
  • Supervisory experience required
  • Experience in hotel or hospitality industry preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Opera property management system
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Track record of delivering exceptional guest experiences

Job Duties

  • Manage day-to-day front office operations ensuring quality service
  • Promote teamwork and coordinate with other departments including housekeeping and maintenance
  • Personally ensure VIP guests receive exceptional experiences including room inspections and greetings
  • Organize and coordinate master accounts and special group requests
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and operating equipment
  • Ensure adherence to safety and sanitation standards
  • Respond to guest complaints and provide effective follow-up
  • Serve as Manager on Duty and respond to emergencies
  • Prepare staffing schedules and adjust for business demands
  • Analyze guest satisfaction data and implement improvement plans
  • Coordinate projects for floor condensing and room inventory
  • Achieve budgeted revenues and control labor costs
  • Maintain security procedures for finances and guest safety
  • Attract, hire, and train front office staff
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings and monitor employee performance
  • Provide coaching and handle employee issues professionally
  • Lead with passion, integrity, and respect, promoting Sonesta's values
