The role of the Restaurant Receptionist and Front Desk Assistant is integral to maintaining this high standard of service. This position centers on welcoming and checking in members and guests at the club's various restaurant outlets, acting as the first point of contact to ensure a seamless and enjoyable dining experience. As a liaison between the front desk operations and the hospitality team, the individual will manage reservations, handle member inquiries, and assist with administrative duties that support overall club operations. Confidence in using reservation management software such as Seven Rooms and Peoplevine is essential, as is the ability to maintain calmness and professionalism in a fast-paced, member-focused environment. A successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to anticipate and respond promptly to member needs, maintaining courteous communication and upholding the club's code of conduct at all times.

The receptionist role also includes responsibilities that extend beyond mere check-ins, such as handling guest complaints with tact, collaborating with the Membership team, maintaining front desk cleanliness, and performing various concierge-type services. Candidates will be expected to understand and enforce club policies, ensure accurate and efficient handling of telephone and email communications, and contribute to a well-organized workspace. The role is dynamic, requiring adaptability, quick learning, and an enthusiastic approach to delivering top-tier service. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • at least 2 years prior experience in customer service
  • prior experience in hospitality or food and beverage is preferred
  • proficiency with reservation systems such as Seven Rooms and Peoplevine
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • good personal hygiene and grooming standards
  • willingness to learn and adapt to club standards
  • ability to handle guest complaints professionally and courteously

Job Qualifications

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn new things regardless of previous job experiences
  • at least 2 years prior experience in customer service
  • prior restaurant or food and beverage experience a plus
  • able to work in a fast-paced environment with speed and quality
  • good personal hygiene and grooming standards
  • strong written and verbal communication skills
  • the ability to interact with guests and team members professionally, including the ability to speak in front of small groups of team members
  • knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations

Job Duties

  • Welcome members and guests to the club with a positive and warm attitude
  • take restaurant reservations accurately and efficiently
  • answer phone calls and emails with confidence and professional verbiage following club standards
  • work quickly with Seven Rooms and Peoplevine systems
  • ensure all rules of the club are understood and followed by all members and guests prior to entering the club
  • assist in printing daily menus for the club
  • acknowledge and anticipate guests' needs and respond promptly to maintain positive guest relations at all times
  • inform managers and the Membership team of any guest complaints, requests or problems
  • maintain an organized and clean work area
  • follow all front office standard operating procedures
  • resolve member and guest problems quickly, efficiently, and courteously
  • expedite member and guest check-ins and departures
  • provide concierge-type services to guests
  • update group information
  • maintain, monitor, and prepare group requirements
  • relay information to all concerned staff members
  • manage the routing of telephone, mail and other messages to members and guests
  • maintain effective relationships and communication with all other departments
  • perform other appropriate tasks assigned by the Front Desk Manager
