Job Description

HopCat is a vibrant casual dining restaurant known for its energetic atmosphere, delicious food, and extensive craft beer selection. As a part of the BarFly group, HopCat prides itself on fostering inclusive, welcoming environments where both guests and employees can truly be themselves. The company is committed to sustainability and quality, with an industry-leading recycling and composting program that helps divert up to 90% of food waste from landfills. At HopCat, the culture emphasizes fun, teamwork, and growth opportunities, making it an ideal place for those passionate about hospitality and service. This casual dining setting offers employees a chance to engage with a diverse clientele while working in a fast-paced yet enjoyable environment.

We are currently looking to expand our hosting team with part-time positions available, perfect for 16 and 17-year-olds seeking their first job experience or anyone looking for a welcoming and supportive team. This role is designed with flexibility in mind, offering shifts across days and nights including weekdays and weekends, catering to your availability. With an hourly wage ranging from $12.00 to $15.00 plus potential tips from to-go orders, this position provides a competitive starting salary for entry-level hospitality staff.

As a host at HopCat, you are the face of the restaurant, responsible for creating a warm and fun atmosphere that sets the tone for guest experiences. This role is critical as it directly impacts guests’ first impressions and overall satisfaction. Hosts will engage with customers in a friendly manner, manage seating arrangements efficiently, and support the flow of the restaurant by coordinating with servers and kitchen staff. Beyond these responsibilities, HopCat offers training in customer interaction, hospitality standards, and its renowned sustainability efforts, including the recycling and composting programs. There is a clear path for advancement within the company, offering opportunities to transition into serving or bartending roles, or to take on leadership roles as trainers or team leads for those who demonstrate dedication and enthusiasm.

The benefits package includes flexible scheduling to accommodate school and personal commitments, paid sick time, mental health benefits like free counseling and online assessments for employees and their families, and a 401k plan with company matching. Additional perks include employee discounts, referral programs, and a supportive work culture that values diversity and inclusion. At HopCat, every team member is respected and celebrated for their unique contributions, making it more than just a workplace – it’s a community. Joining the hosting team at HopCat means joining a company committed to personal growth, sustainability, and a positive guest experience that goes beyond serving food and drinks.
