The role of a Front Desk Agent at Renaissance Milwaukee West is pivotal to ensuring an exceptional guest experience. As the primary point of contact for guests, the Front Desk Agent is responsible for delivering courteous, efficient, and professional service. This position requires an individual with a passion for hospitality who is energized and curious, eager to represent the hotel's high standards of service and the unique spirit of Renaissance Hotels. Responsibilities include greeting guests proactively, managing check-in and check-out procedures accurately, handling guest requests and concerns promptly, and maintaining a thorough knowledge of hotel amenities, room rates, and promotional offerings. The agent will also be tasked with managing reservations, processing payments, and ensuring a seamless communication flow between staff and management via appropriate logs and records.

In addition to guest interactions, the Front Desk Agent plays an essential role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the lobby and desk areas, ensuring security and emergency protocols are understood and followed, and balancing cash and credit transactions during shifts. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in customer service or hospitality preferred
  • Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and varying shifts
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and courtesy in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good organizational skills

Job Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a front desk position, preferably in a full-service hotel
  • Marriott experience a plus
  • Flexible availability for first and second shift including weekends
  • Understanding that schedules will vary based on business demand
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle cash and credit transactions accurately
  • Knowledge of hotel management software and reservation systems is an advantage
  • Customer service orientation
  • Problem-solving skills

Job Duties

  • Proactively greet and assist guests, providing the highest quality of service at all times
  • Check guests in and out efficiently and in a friendly manner
  • Promptly and effectively respond to guest requests and concerns
  • Post guest charges, compute guest bill, and collect payment in accordance with established procedures
  • Handle guest mail and messages per established procedures
  • Understand and communicate various rewards programs, packages, and specials available to guests
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of hotel staff, room locations, room rates, amenities, and selling strategies
  • Take reservation requests efficiently
  • Answer switchboard in accordance with standards of proper telephone etiquette
  • Block rooms and handle special requests
  • Monitor room availability
  • Handle safe deposits by guests per established procedures
  • Assist in ensuring lobby and desk area remain clean
  • Have a thorough knowledge of emergency and security procedures
  • Open and close shift
  • make cash drops
  • Ensure all credit cards, cash, and change funds are balanced throughout each shift
  • Communicate with incoming staff and management by logging pertinent information in the pass on log
  • Other duties as required
