Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in customer service or hospitality preferred
  • familiarity with basic computer applications
  • ability to communicate effectively in English
  • strong interpersonal skills
  • problem-solving abilities
  • flexibility to work varied shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
  • attention to detail
  • physical ability to stand for long periods and perform light manual tasks as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Work experience as a hotel front desk agent, receptionist, guest services representative or similar role preferred
  • experience with a form of property management software is a plus
  • understanding of how travel planning websites operate, for example Booking and TripAdvisor
  • a strong desire to learn and develop
  • customer service attitude
  • excellent communication and organizational skills
  • degree in hospitality related field is an asset
  • willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Perform all check-in and check-out tasks
  • manage online and phone reservations
  • inform customers about payment methods and verify their credit card data
  • register guests collecting necessary information such as contact details and exact dates of their stay
  • welcome guests upon their arrival and assign rooms
  • provide information about the hotel, available rooms, rates and amenities
  • respond to guests' inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • liaise with housekeeping staff to ensure all rooms are clean, tidy and fully furnished to accommodate guests' needs
  • tend and fold laundry when needed
  • confirm group reservations and arrange personalized services for VIP customers and event attendees
  • upsell additional facilities and services when appropriate
  • maintain updated records of bookings and payments
