Job Description

The Grayson School is a distinguished independent educational institution specializing in gifted education. Established with a commitment to fostering educational innovation, the school provides a research-based learning environment tailored specifically for gifted students from Pre-K through grade 12. As the only "all gifted, all day" school within a 100-mile radius, Grayson offers a unique program that includes summer and enrichment classes accessible to the wider community. The school integrates best practices in gifted education, ensuring that students learn at a pace and level consistent with their abilities while collaborating with similarly gifted peers. This setting supports not only academic excellence but also the social and emotional development of high-ability learners. Grayson is dedicated to nurturing each student's unlimited potential in a supportive and challenging atmosphere.

The Grayson School is an Equal Opportunity Employer, embracing diversity and inclusivity across all aspects of its operation. The school does not tolerate discrimination based on race, color, national origin, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, age, or any non-merit factors. This commitment extends to its admissions, educational policies, financial aid, athletic programs, and employment practices. By fostering an inclusive community, Grayson ensures that all students and staff are treated with respect and equity.

The Front Desk Coordinator role at The Grayson School plays a vital part in the daily operations of this dynamic and fast-paced learning institution. This full-time position operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., inclusive of a lunch break. The role is critical as the first point of contact for students, families, staff, and visitors, creating a welcoming and organized environment. Responsibilities include managing communications, such as answering phones and greeting guests, supporting attendance processes, coordinating schedules, and handling unexpected issues that arise during the school day. The Front Desk Coordinator must be a calm, composed professional adept at multitasking in a lively school setting, with exceptional customer service and strong interpersonal skills.

The position also includes administrative tasks such as supply ordering and maintaining a tidy reception area. The coordinator becomes a trusted presence among the school community, engaging with students ranging from young Pre-K learners to graduating seniors. This role requires discretion, good judgment, and a positive attitude with a willingness to proactively tackle challenges and support the school's mission-driven goals. Benefits for this role include a competitive package with paid time off, retirement contributions up to 6%, paid holidays including Winter and Spring Breaks, and reduced summer hours. This opportunity provides a meaningful way to contribute to the growth and development of gifted students within an innovative educational setting.
