Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work flexible hours between Greensboro and Oak Ridge offices
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of patient confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines
- Proficiency with EMR and scheduling software preferred
- Reliable and punctual
- Willingness to learn and adapt
- Empathy and professional patient interaction skills
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in a medical office or customer-facing role preferred but not necessary
- Understanding of medical and vision insurance terminology preferred
- Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines and patient confidentiality requirements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle patient inquiries with empathy and tact
- Proficiency with electronic medical record systems and scheduling software
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Quick problem-solving and time management abilities
- Professional demeanor and teamwork attitude
Job Duties
- Handle inbound and outbound calls with professionalism and care
- Schedule patient appointments including guiding patients to appropriate specialty care
- Assist patients through check-in and check-out processes
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival
- Verify insurance coverage and update patient records
- Work with insurance companies to clarify and explain coverage
- Maintain patient flow and ensure appointments stay on schedule
- Collect payments and schedule follow-ups
- Keep patient files organized and protect confidentiality of all medical and personal information
