You will be required to have in-depth knowledge of the hotel’s rates, discounts, reservation policies, and be skilled at using front office computer systems or manual logs to track daily transactions and special requests. This role demands excellent organizational skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to manage multiple tasks smoothly under a busy setting. Front Desk Agents also handle cash transactions securely, including processing payments via cash, credit cards, and checks, making change as needed, and accurately posting charges to guest accounts. The agent’s role extends to collaborating with other hotel departments to ensure guest needs are met and reservations are maintained correctly, including blocking rooms for special requests or group bookings. This position also requires working flexible hours that may include nights, weekends, and holidays to ensure 24/7 front desk coverage. The physical aspect involves prolonged periods of desk work, keyboarding, occasional standing and walking, and some physical lifting of items up to 10–25 pounds. Additional essential skills include effective communication, teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to provide a memorable guest experience. Job Requirements
- Ability to work in a standard office environment
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer (6-8 hours a day)
- Occasional standing and walking throughout workday
- Frequent fine motor skills, use of hands and fingers for keyboarding/typing, utilizing mouse or trackpad, writing, and operating office equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, reach, or carry items
- Ability to lift and/or move 10-25 pounds as needed
- Visual ability to read from computer screen and printed materials including close visual focus for extended periods and color differentiation
- Ability to hear and participate in conversations and meetings, use phone and/or headset

Job Duties
- Greet and communicate cordially with guests, promptly and professionally checking them in and out of the hotel
- Assist in pre-registration and blocking of reservations when necessary
- Promptly, accurately and efficiently know how and where to post all charges
- Have complete working knowledge of Front Office computer or manual system, including all daily transactions and those which are not performed often
- Accurately manage cash handling, including receiving cash, checks and credit card information from guests for payment of hotel charges and making change correctly
- Review any reservations with special requests and work to block rooms accordingly
- Have knowledge of hotel rates, discounts and how to handle each
- Have working knowledge of reservations and procedures, including how to take same day reservations
- should be able to take reservations in approximately 2 minutes
- know and follow cancellation procedures and relocation procedures when necessary
