Job Description

HomeRise believes that home has the power to stabilize a person's life. Built on a simple but powerful idea called supportive housing, they provide people experiencing homelessness with a place to call home combined with support services like mental health services and job training. HomeRise organizes residents and supporters to advocate for local and state policies, like affordable housing, to help those still on the streets or at risk of homelessness, aiming to build a new future for neighborhoods and the city. The position is for a Front Desk Clerk at their San Francisco location under the collective bargaining agreement with SEIU 1021.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • willingness to learn and follow directions
  • good-humored, courteous, and professional even under pressure
  • organized with attention to detail
  • ability to remain calm and responsible during emergencies
  • understanding of and ability to communicate with diverse types of people
  • ability to be part of a team
  • commitment to helping formerly homeless people regain and maintain independence
  • applicants encouraged to learn basic computer skills
  • ability to appropriately respond to and resolve conflict
  • understanding of and experience working with homelessness and recovery issues
  • HomeRise Training Institute/Desk Clerk Training Program successful participant a strong plus
