  • proven experience as a front desk agent preferred

Job Duties

  • Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests
  • issue room key and escort instructions to Bell person or directly to guest without announcing room numbers
  • date-stamp, sort and rack incoming mail and messages
  • transmit and receive messages using equipment such as telephone, fax and switchboard
  • answer inquiries about hotel services, registration, shopping, dining, entertainment and travel directions
  • keep records of room availability and guests' accounts
  • compute bills, collect payment and make change for guests
  • make, confirm and cancel reservations
  • post charges such as room, food, liquor or telephone
  • make restaurant, transportation or entertainment reservations for guests
  • deposit guests' valuables in hotel safe
  • order complimentary flowers or champagne for special guests as directed by management
  • understand and enforce hotel credit policies
  • account for all cash and make deposits according to company policies
  • communicate effectively with other hotel departments
  • report to work on time and in uniform
  • comply with all company policies and procedures regarding duties
  • take initiative to greet guests warmly
  • cross-sell other Shamin Hotels
  • perform other related duties as needed
