Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and customer-focused 2nd Shift Front Desk Agent to join our team, primarily working from 3pm to 11pm. This full-time position offers an hourly wage ranging from $15 to $17 and comes complete with an attractive benefits package. Benefits begin 30 days after employment and include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, critical and accident insurance, paid time off (PTO), and hotel discounts.

The Front Desk Agent plays a crucial role in shaping the guest experience by serving as the first point of contact for hotel visitors. This position involves greeting guests warmly, managing check-in and check-out processes, answering telephone inquiries, and performing various front office operations. The agent supports the Front Office Supervisor by efficiently coordinating daily arrivals, departures, and special requests, while implementing the hotel’s cash handling procedures with accuracy and integrity. Moreover, the role demands maintaining an organized and neat front office area and ensuring timely communication of daily activities to relevant departments to guarantee smooth operations.

Providing exceptional guest service is paramount, requiring the agent to solicit feedback actively, resolve any complaints or issues promptly, and facilitate a safe environment by adhering to all health, safety, and emergency procedures. The ability to respond appropriately to emergency situations and security concerns is essential, as is reporting any hazards to management without delay.

This position fulfills critical operational responsibilities including cash drops, shift reports, call around duties, and key control management. The Front Desk Agent is expected to embody the company’s mission, values, and vision, demonstrating professionalism at all times while wearing the prescribed uniform and complying with all hotel and brand standards. Flexibility to work any shift and cover for associates when necessary is required, alongside a commitment to working through the entire shift until relieved by the next team member.

Strong knowledge of Property Management Systems (PMS) and effective collaboration with the sales team to maximize revenue through upselling and downselling is important for success in this role. The ideal candidate will have prior customer service or hotel front desk experience, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to convey information clearly in English for business correspondence and interactions.

Job Duties

  • Assist in maximization of revenue goals through upselling and downselling according to occupancy, rates and competitors
  • Efficiently coordinate daily arrivals and departures including special requests
  • Follow hotel’s cash handling procedures
  • Keep front office neat and organized and communicate daily activities to appropriate departments
  • Seek feedback from guests to ensure the highest level of satisfaction and resolve problem situations through management aid to exceed guest expectations
  • Respond to and direct emergency situations and security issues to management immediately
  • Report to supervisor any health, safety, or hazard issues
  • Ensure that health and safety standards are maintained with the front desk both employee and guest perspective
  • Ensure safety and well-being of guests and co-workers by having a working knowledge of crisis and emergency procedures
  • Responsible for all operations of the front desk including shift reports, cash drops, call around and other functions
  • Attend meetings and training as requested
  • Responsible for proper key control
  • Must wear uniform
  • Must comply with hotel and brand standards
  • Ensure compliance of all company policies and procedures
  • Work closely with the sales team and capitalize on all revenue
  • Have good understanding of PMS system
  • Be willing to work any shift and fill in when other associates are not able to work
  • Continue working until the next shift arrives
  • Send a daily end of shift activity to Supervisor and copy to General Manager
  • Must embrace the Mission, Values and Vision of Indus
  • Maintain personal cleanliness
