Job Description
Marriott International is a globally recognized hospitality company known for its dedication to quality, service, and innovation in the hotel industry. As one of the world’s leading lodging companies, Marriott International operates a diverse portfolio of brands that serve millions of guests annually across numerous countries. Among its distinctive brands is Courtyard by Marriott, a hotel network specifically designed to meet the needs of business travelers while providing an exceptional and comfortable experience for all guests. The Courtyard brand stands out for creating environments that balance functionality with relaxed atmospheres, making stays productive and enjoyable for its clientele. Employing a dynamic and dedicated team that values collaboration, diversity, and continuous improvement, Marriott International fosters an inclusive work environment where employees can thrive and contribute to the company's ongoing success.
The position of Guest Experience Specialist at Courtyard is much more than traditional front desk duties. It involves initiating and delivering a comprehensive range of services aimed at ensuring guests have a memorable and unique experience from check-in to check-out. This role is critical in maintaining a “guest first” mindset, as specialists are empowered to move freely within the hotel spaces to anticipate and meet guests’ needs promptly and efficiently. Guest Experience Specialists take responsibility for a variety of operational tasks that enhance the overall guest experience, such as processing operational needs, handling guest requests, completing essential reports, delivering quality meals, and sharing insightful local highlights.
This role demands excellent customer service skills blended with physical stamina, as the job frequently requires standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, along with lifting and moving objects up to 25 pounds. The position emphasizes creating a safe and professional work environment by adhering to company policies and procedures, protecting company assets, maintaining confidentiality, and upholding uniform and personal appearance standards. Specialists work hands-on in a fast-paced setting to ensure quality service is consistently delivered to every guest. Besides the customer-facing aspect, this role involves internal operational support, making the Guest Experience Specialist an integral part of the hotel's functioning and guest satisfaction strategy.
Joining the Courtyard team means becoming part of a passionate group committed to improving the experiences of travelers worldwide. With a strong value placed on diversity and inclusion, Marriott International promotes equal opportunity and a welcoming work environment where the unique backgrounds of associates are celebrated. Employees at Courtyard enjoy a culture of learning and growth within a supportive, ambitious team, enjoying their work while striving to deliver hospitality excellence. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who want to develop their careers in hospitality, gain hands-on experience, and be part of an iconic global brand that values its employees’ contributions and wellbeing.
