The available position is for a Part-Time Rooms & Guest Services Operations associate located at 151 W Adams St, Chicago, Illinois. This role is non-management with a pay rate of approximately 26.69 to 27.44 dollars per hour and requires flexibility in working shifts, including weekends and holidays. The associate will be responsible for managing guest check-in and check-out procedures, confirming reservations, assigning rooms, and issuing and activating room keys. The role involves processing various payment methods, including cash, checks, debit, and credit cards, and handling guest folios and billing inquiries.

Further responsibilities include attending to guest calls, messages, requests, and concerns, coordinating with housekeeping to ensure rooms meet quality standards, and managing parking procedures by directing guests appropriately. Additionally, the associate will provide information on hotel amenities and local attractions, prepare daily reports on arrivals and departures, balance cash drawers, and ensure compliance with company safety and security policies. The position requires standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods and occasionally moving objects weighing up to 10 pounds.

Job Duties

  • Process all guest check-ins through reservation confirmation, room assignment, and key issuance and activation
  • process all payment types including lodging charges, cash, checks, debit, and credit cards
  • manage guest folios including disputed charges or late check-outs
  • attend to, record, and process guest calls, messages, requests, inquiries, or concerns
  • coordinate with housekeeping to ensure room readiness
  • communicate parking procedures to guests and coordinate with bell staff as needed
  • provide directions and information about the hotel and local areas of interest
  • prepare daily reports on arrivals and departures, identify special requests, and verify report accuracy
  • complete cashier reports and closing reports in the computer system
  • collect personal and traveler's checks from guests
  • balance and deliver receipts as per accounting specifications
  • comply with company safety and security policies and report incidents
  • maintain professional appearance and confidentiality of proprietary information
  • greet and recognize guests according to company standards, anticipate and meet service needs, assist persons with disabilities, use clear and professional language, properly handle phone calls
  • cultivate positive working relationships
