The role of Part Time Front Desk Agent at The Pfister Hotel is essential in continuing this iconic legacy by delivering warm, courteous, and professional service to all guests. This position requires individuals with a genuine passion for hospitality, who can effectively embody the welcoming atmosphere that The Pfister is known for. As a Front Desk Agent, you will be the first point of contact for guests arriving at the hotel, responsible for greeting visitors with a smile and ensuring their check-in and check-out processes are smooth and efficient. Your role is critical in setting the tone for a guest's stay and inspiring them to return.

Beyond the check-in and check-out duties, the Front Desk Agent manages guest requests and inquiries with patience and diplomacy, handling situations that require tactful conflict resolution. You will access and input guest information using hotel computer systems, providing accurate data and responding to questions about hotel amenities and local attractions. The ability to maintain cash handling accuracy and manage house bank responsibilities is also a vital aspect of this role.

This position demands excellent communication skills, a professional demeanor, and an ability to multitask efficiently while standing and moving throughout the front office area. Previous experience in hotel reception, customer service, or administrative roles is preferred, and a high school diploma or equivalent is required.   • previous hotel, receptionist, customer service, front desk or administrative experience preferred
  • ability to read, listen, and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system
  • ability to observe and detect signs of emergencies
  • high school diploma or equivalent required

Job Duties

  • Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the hotel
  • check guests in and out of rooms
  • input and retrieve information routinely from computer system to communicate guest requests
  • make appropriate selection of rooms based on guests' needs
  • effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts
  • respond to guest requests and questions regarding area or hotel, outlet information and services as well as handle guest issues and report complaints to management
  • promptly answer the phone in a professional and clear manner
  • maintain cash handling accuracy including responsibility for House Bank
  • other duties as assigned
