Job Description
San Francisco Marriott Marquis is a prominent hotel located in the heart of downtown San Francisco, known for its contemporary design, upscale amenities, and prime location near major attractions and convention centers. As part of Marriott International, a globally recognized hospitality leader, the hotel embodies Marriott's commitment to exceptional guest experiences and world-class service. Serving business and leisure travelers alike, the Marriott Marquis offers a blend of comfort and style, with spacious guest rooms, diverse dining options, and extensive meeting and event spaces. The hotel places a strong emphasis on inclusivity, diversity, and the well-being of its associates, fostering a supportive work environment where employees can grow professionally and personally.
The Overnight Front Desk Agent role at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis offers a full-time non-management position focused on delivering outstanding guest service during the overnight shift, typically between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM. This position is essential to the smooth operation of front desk services, responsible for managing guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently and courteously. An Overnight Front Desk Agent serves as the welcoming face of the hotel to guests arriving late at night or departing early in the morning, ensuring their stay begins and ends on a positive note.
In this role, the agent will confirm reservations, assign rooms, and activate room keys while processing a variety of payment methods including cash, checks, and credit cards. They will handle guest inquiries, requests, and concerns, providing information about hotel amenities as well as local attractions to enhance guest satisfaction. Coordination with housekeeping to track room readiness and communication with bell and valet staff about guest arrivals are key duties. The agent must accurately run daily reports, manage cashier responsibilities, balance bank receipts, and uphold all company safety and security policies. The job requires standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, as well as some light lifting of up to 10 pounds.
Working overnight provides quiet and focused hours, allowing the agent to build personal connections with guests and contribute to the seamless operation of front desk services during a critical time period. The hourly pay range is competitive at $39.04 to $39.79, reflecting the specialized nature of overnight hospitality work. Marriott International fosters an inclusive environment where all associates are welcomed and valued, with policies promoting equal opportunity and respect for diversity.
Overall, this overnight front desk agent position is perfect for individuals who thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments and take pride in providing excellent customer service. It offers an opportunity to gain valuable hospitality experience within a world-renowned hotel brand that supports career growth and professional development. Associates at Marriott benefit from a culture that prioritizes respect, teamwork, and a commitment to delivering a memorable guest experience. Those joining the team at San Francisco Marriott Marquis contribute directly to Marriott's promise of wonderful hospitality, always.
