Job Description

The Platinum Hotel is a well-regarded hospitality establishment located just one block off the famous Las Vegas Strip and five blocks from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). This positioning provides team members with a convenient commute and places them in the heart of a bustling, vibrant city known for its entertainment and tourism industries. The hotel prides itself on cultivating a professional, non-union, non-smoking, and non-gaming work environment, which aims to foster a respectful and comfortable workplace for all employees. The Platinum Hotel offers dedicated employee benefits such as free meals and parking, making it an attractive employer for those seeking stability and comfort in their work conditions. With an emphasis on excellence in service and guest satisfaction, the hotel maintains a reputation for quality and a welcoming atmosphere to visitors from around the world.

We are currently recruiting for a full-time Front Desk Agent to join our dynamic team. The role of Front Desk Agent is critical as it serves as the first point of contact for guests arriving at the hotel and the last impression they take when they depart. This position involves a wide range of responsibilities that are integral to the smooth operation of the hotel, including guest registration, check-out processes, phone system management, and handling mail and message services. The ideal candidate will be personable, professional, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a friendly demeanor that embodies outstanding customer service.

The Front Desk Agent's shift times vary between 6:00 am and 10:00 pm, providing some flexibility in work schedules to accommodate employee preferences and hotel needs. Starting pay for this role is $16.50 per hour. This role requires vigilance, attention to detail, and adherence to established policies such as key control and credit procedures. Specific duties include reviewing arrivals daily to note special preferences, conducting room assignments especially for VIPs and repeat guests, and managing the daily shift bank which includes balancing cash, checks, and credit card transactions. Excellent communication skills are paramount as the agent must interact effectively with guests, supervisors, and team members to ensure complete guest satisfaction and efficient hotel operations.

Beyond these operational responsibilities, the Front Desk Agent also plays a role in creating memorable guest experiences by researching and responding to guest requests with tailored amenities. Familiarity with property management systems like SMS or Opera is considered a plus but is not mandatory. The Platinum Hotel is committed to supporting its employees with various benefits such as paid time off, medical, dental, vision insurance after 30 days, company-paid life insurance, an employee assistance program, and a 401(k) plan with employer matching contributions. The hotel values its team members and strives to maintain a supportive workplace culture where each employee feels valued and empowered to perform at their best. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to grow their career in the hospitality industry at a well-established hotel with a strong community focus.
