Job Description

This role is for a Front Desk Agent who plays a critical role in maintaining seamless operations at the hotel’s front desk. The primary responsibility of the Front Desk Agent is to operate in accordance with the established rules, policies, regulations, and procedures set forth by management. This is to maximize occupancy, revenue, efficiency, and most importantly, guest satisfaction and service. The Front Desk Agent is the first point of contact for guests, and therefore, acts as the face of the hotel. This position requires someone who is personable, positive, and professional, capable of greeting guests warmly by name when possible, and promptly attending to their needs in a courteous manner.

The role includes registering guests upon check-in, ensuring all information collected is accurate, verifying credit card information, posting charges to guest accounts, and managing reservation requests when necessary. A significant aspect of this job is upholding the highest level of customer service, from smiling and practicing the 12-6-3 rule to responding efficiently to all guest communications. Attire is also important, as the agent must report to work in the proper uniform outlined by the hotel, reflecting the establishment’s professional image.

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of reservation and front desk software is an advantage

Job Duties

  • Report to work in proper uniform as outlined by the hotel
  • Greet guests in a professional and friendly manner
  • Be personable, positive, smile, and practice 12-6-3 rules
  • Greet guest by name whenever possible and promptly attend to all guest needs in a most courteous, efficient, and professional manner
  • Register guests as they check-in, ensuring all information is correct and accurate
  • Obtain proper credit from each guest at check-in and verify credit card validity
  • Post charges to guest and administration accounts
  • Handle all incoming and outgoing reservation requests in absence of a reservationist
