Job Description
The Rambler Hotel in Chula Vista offers a unique hospitality experience that combines groovy retro vibes with laid-back Southern California charm. This boutique hotel is famed for its vintage-inspired decor and a welcoming atmosphere that creates a memorable and charming stay for guests who appreciate a touch of nostalgia alongside modern comforts. Situated in the thriving city of Chula Vista, close to San Diego, The Rambler is perfectly positioned to offer easy access to local attractions, beaches, dining, and cultural experiences. The hotel prides itself on its personalized guest service, aiming to exceed expectations while embodying the chill SoCal lifestyle. The Rambler is part of the Eat.Drink.Sleep collection of properties, known for their creative approach to hospitality and emphasis on creating welcoming environments for visitors and locals alike.
The available part-time Front Desk Attendant position at The Rambler Hotel calls for an energetic, friendly individual who thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. As a frontline team member, you will be the face of the hotel, responsible for greeting and assisting guests with check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and any inquiries they have about the local area. This role is perfect for a hospitality professional with at least one year of experience in hotels, front desk operations, reservations, or auditing, who is passionate about providing exceptional guest service. With a competitive starting pay of $18.40 per hour, this role offers employment in a positive, supportive workplace culture that values inclusivity, professionalism, and team spirit.
Your responsibilities will include utilizing hotel management systems to efficiently handle guest transactions, answering phone calls with a warm and professional demeanor, and sharing your local knowledge about San Diego and Chula Vista’s best spots—from food to outdoor activities. You will contribute to creating a smooth and enjoyable visit for every guest by managing requests and working collaboratively with other team members to maintain a friendly lobby atmosphere. Flexible scheduling is necessary, with availability required for at least two days during the off-season and three days during the busy season, including some evening shifts. Candidates with experience in RoomMaster software or backgrounds in accounting or night audit will find these skills beneficial for the position.
Joining The Rambler means becoming part of a crew that values not only your work but your well-being. The hotel offers seasonal incentive programs, access to an Employee Assistance Program, and exclusive discounts on food, drinks, and stays at related properties. This role is an excellent opportunity for those seeking a vibrant workplace where they can build their career in hospitality while enjoying a retro-inspired, community-focused environment.
