The Front Desk Representative role is a vital position within the UFC Gym franchise that serves as the first line of contact for members and guests. This role involves greeting guests warmly, managing phone communications, assisting members with various inquiries and purchases, and facilitating the registration and check-in process. As a Front Desk Representative, you will be responsible for creating a positive and professional atmosphere upon arrival and departure of members. You will manage routine administrative tasks such as opening and closing procedures, maintaining the front desk’s cleanliness, and assisting with inventory management. You will also have the opportunity to engage in retail sales, promoting supplements, apparel, and other UFC Gym products, contributing directly to the gym’s revenue.

The role demands a high level of professionalism and attention to detail. You must adhere to company policies on appearance and conduct, including avoiding non-work-related activities during shifts. As safety is a priority, you will be expected to promptly report any hazardous or emergency situations to management. Moreover, this position may require handling multiple phone lines efficiently and maintaining composure while multitasking in a fast-paced setting.

Candidates for this position should have a minimum of six months' experience in customer service roles within health clubs, retail, hospitality, or food service industries, demonstrating familiarity with a customer-focused environment. Basic computer skills and the ability to manage point-of-sale systems are essential. Physical requirements include standing for extended periods and occasionally lifting or moving light weights up to 25 pounds.

This position reports directly to the Front Desk Lead and Operations Manager and interacts regularly with various levels of the gym’s management and staff teams. The UFC Gym's franchise status means hiring decisions and employment inquiries should be directed to the local franchise management.

Job Duties

  • Warmly greet members and guests as they enter and leave the club
  • answer incoming calls in a professional and efficient manner
  • transfer phone calls promptly to the appropriate departments or individuals
  • check in members and verify membership status
  • sign up members for group fitness or ultimate classes
  • register prospective members and refer them to the membership department
  • address members' questions or direct them to the appropriate staff
  • sell supplements, apparel, and other retail items
  • ring up purchases accurately on the POS system and provide correct change
  • maintain a professional image and behavior at all times
  • respond professionally to requests and inquiries from guests, members, and staff
  • provide information about special club events
  • report or escalate unsafe conditions or emergencies immediately
  • keep the front desk and lobby neat and clean
  • perform opening and closing procedures as assigned
  • attend monthly or other scheduled meetings
  • assist with inventory management and product pricing
  • call past due members regarding late payments and down payments
